INFO

The former Camino Garment Factory was an outstanding textile industry founded in 1946 in Avilés by Segundo Camino Piedra. Designed by the architect Tomás Menéndez Abascal, the complex comprised two central industrial buildings and an annex building, reflecting the growth of the city's industrial and manufacturing fabric during the 20th century.

After the its industrial activity ceased, the building was refurbished from 2007 and reopened in 2010 as the Cultural Factory of Avilés. It currently operates as a multidisciplinary artistic centre that houses workshops, rehearsal rooms, a performance space, a FabLab and the Municipal Ceramics School, becoming established as a space dedicated to contemporary cultural creation, production and dissemination.
