INFO

The Valdecarzana Palace is a Gothic civil building built between the end of the 13th and the beginning of the 14th century, and constitutes one of the few preserved examples of medieval civil architecture in Avilés.

It originally combined commercial use on the ground floor and family residence on the upper floor, reflecting the urban and mercantile organization of the medieval village. The main facade of the original construction is preserved, featuring ogival arches on the ground floor and geminated windows on the upper floor. Over time, the building has been restored and adapted to new uses, maintaining its historical value within the old part of the city. It currently houses the Historical Archive of Avilés and exhibition spaces, operating as a place for the preservation of the documentary and heritage memory of the city.
