Andrea Molina Cuadro (Madrid, 1993) came to art via architecture. As co-founder of Estudio Latente and Latent Ecologies, her work lies at the intersection of design, art, the humanities and ecology, using critical cartography and fictional narrative to foster the ecological regeneration of territories. She is currently pursuing her doctoral research at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

en transición [in transition] (2026) is a two-channel audiovisual installation that explores the transformation of the mining landscapes of Asturias and El Bierzo in the context of the current energy transition processes. Developed at the ACTS (Art, Science, Technology and Society) residences in collaboration with the Institute for a Fair Transition at the City of Energy Foundation (CIUDEN), of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), the work explores what it means to transition in a territory shaped by decades of coal mining and combustion. The projection is displayed across two surfaces mirrored by free-standing mirror modules, through which visitors can walk, becoming part of the landscape on a life-size scale. Three Laboratories supply the installation with materials produced collectively during the exhibition, transforming the work into a living archive that is rewritten with every conversation.
